Fire Station 28 Dedication

By schrier, 6 December 2009 10:59 pm

Alexandria and I attended the dedication of the new Fire Station #28 in SouthEast Seattle on Saturday, December 5th.   The City of Seattle is rebuilding all of its 33 fire stations as a result of a $167 million Fire Facilities Levy passed in 2003.  This is the first “neighborhood” fire station to be completed and dedicated.   (We previously built and dedicated a new Fire Station #10, plus Emergency Operations Center and Fire Alarm Center downtown – more info here.)

Alex had a great time playing with other kids at the dedication, climbing on the fire apparatus for Ladder 12, and using the exercise equipment.   Station #28 includes a ladder company, engine company and Medic unit, and is one of the busiest stations in the City, with 6000 calls last year.
